FAQ
Why are your prices so high?
I price each piece individually as time spent varies so much. If it’s more expensive it’s probably because it took a long time. Each piece is hand painted by me, and sometimes takes up several hours to be done. I’m also not doing remakes, so each piece is a unique piece of art. Please keep in mind that I’m acting as an artist and I’m actually selling you a piece of functional art! I totally get if my art is out of your price range or if you’re not willing to pay that much money for “just a mug”, but please kindly keep it to yourself.
How are they made?
I’m currently using a white stoneware clay which I bought at my local pottery shop. I handbuild all of my pieces and then decorate with underglazes. I actually have to use at least three layers of underglaze which is probably why it’s taking me so long all the time – but this step really makes the colours pop so I can’t really skip that. I then bisque fire them and use a clear food-safe glaze and fire them again at around 1200 degree Celsius, to turn it into a piece of dishware. If I feel fancy I’ll add some golden oxide in a third firing, but that really depends on the piece. Honestly ceramics can be a pain in the ass! Clay constantly forces you to have no attachment to what you’re making until it’s done.
The piece I want is sold out – do you consider remaking it?
No. At least I won’t remake the same exact design. I’m sorry if you’ve missed it but as I already said – each piece is a unique piece of art. There may be similar versions of different pieces with the same cartoon characters on it, but never the exact thing twice. I’m extremely prone to burnout and counteract this by trying different things. Also I get bored super easily so recreating the same design over and over again would actually kill me and my creativity lol.
